Hi

this is missing in the de-DE.com_rsgallery2.ini:

Hi chfrey,

I'm sure that there are even more strings that are missing in german or that are not translated to german (de-DE)... but I don't speak german, so I cannot translate them. If you translate the strings to german I'm happy to add them to the german language file. Or you can take a look at this topic: http://www.rsgallery2.nl/general_language_and_translation_questions/how_create_language_translation_file_16639.0.html and see for yourself what else is missing, add it to the language file and create an even better german translation. Improved language files are always welcome. If you need help with that, just ask.

Hi
i can try to update the german language file.
but i have a question: when i change the de-DE.com_rsgallery2.ini then i see no changes in the website. is there a way to install or reload or something else to get the changed language-files ?

Hi

well ... there are two language-files, one in the language-dir and one in the adminsitrator/language-dir.
there are the same ? so i have to translate / complete the one and i can copy it to the other directory ?

To get you started, I have attached the latest german language files where I added (most) missing strings, however, they are in english. These are the files:

• File de-DE.com_rsgallery2.sys.ini
  
  • These strings are used in installation and for the RSGallery2 menu items in the backend.
    All strings need to be translated.
  • Location in installation package: \admin\language\de-DE\
  • Location on website: \JOOMLAROOT\administrator\language\de-DE\
• File de-DE.com_rsgallery2.ini
  
  • Language file as distributed with RSGallery2 3.0.1, but language strings that are new are copied here from the english file (untranslated, find comments ";new"). This file is used both for the backend and the frontend.
  • Location in installation package: \languages\
  • Location on website: \JOOMLAROOT\administrator\language\de-DE\ (for the backend)
    and \JOOMLAROOT\language\de-DE\ (for the frontend)

Language files need to be saved in UTF-8 without BOM (with e.g. Notepad ++).

What you can do is either start translating the files on their own. But you can also start by copying de-DE.com_rsgallery2.ini to the backend language directory (\JOOMLAROOT\administrator\language\de-DE\, replacing the current file) and then start editing the file, and refresh the backend pages so you can see what you have done. After you are done with that, copy the file with you changes to the frontend language directory (\JOOMLAROOT\language\de-DE\, again replacing the current file) and start translating there in the same way.

the 2 german files are attached. I hope that it is fine. I did a few tests, only that what I need for a simple gallery. All the messages for errors and special things i couldn't test. If you want to translate new strings you can send my a mail.

Thanks! I'll get back to you in a few days with a Nighly Build that includes your newly translated files.

Now I only "need" one more thing from you: in the RSGallery2 Control Panel there is a "Credits" page. Can I add you name there?
