RSGallery2 2.x bugs & problems / Re: Slow Gallery with many Photos
« Last post by whazzup on September 22, 2017, 09:22:33 AM »
Hello Andres,

You did not specify how many pictures you have or gonna have.
You may check my website (the banner image is actual too big so don't count that one ;-)
For nearly ten years i add 25-50 images in one/two gallery/ies per month

This is a gallery with 127 images
http://vollmondlauf-hechingen.de/index.php/bildergallerie/gallery/169

The following is the overview page
http://vollmondlauf-hechingen.de/index.php/bildergallerie

The truth is that the gallery view is slower then it could be.
1) Too many code is loaded
2) Too many images in one server directory

This will change in the future
If you followed the development the last years you may
have experienced a big step to a faster backend.

Actually i add drag and drop upload in the backend and after
that will care for the features in the frontend

Hopefully i could help to answer your question
Regards whazzup

Maybe i can give you over the e-mail.

I do use sub galleries.

Having that many photos will make the page load take ages right?

Hello Ha4711,
sorry no idea

Which upload Methode do you use ?
Necessary is zip upload in backend
 on mygallery *.zip and *,.img may be uploaded
Does the file end with *.zip ?
Can you try a zip with just a few files ?

Dear Hal4711,
a user with active "mygallery" is able to load *.zip files for multiple images
with the same click he uses to upload single images.

Actually i am working on a drag and drop solution on the back end
(release this year) but it may be middle or end of 2018 until i
changed enough of the frontend to reach the "mygalllery" section
On the other side i may start with mygalleries when i am finished
with the backend. Then the release with drag and drop is
expected for summer 2018 but sorry no guarantee

All i know of the competition is that phoca gallery has also
a user upload but in never checked how good it is.
you may check it out

RSGallery2 4.x bugs & problems / Batch Upload via frontend
« Last post by Hal4711 on September 02, 2017, 03:49:47 PM »
Hi - new to RSGallery2 - is there a way to have batch upload for the frontend as I have about a dozen users who need to upload >100 photos each? Only found it in the backend, but on the frontend single file upload only.

Thanks

Announcements / Version 4.3.1 released
« Last post by whazzup on August 07, 2017, 10:34:02 PM »
Main Change:
The gallery list view did not display child galleries direct below parent galleries. Now the ordering of galleries will sort child galleries direct after parents so if sorting by ordering the childs appear direct after parents before the next the next parent is displayed.

Known issues:
* Comment list view is half ready but included
* ACL may not work in all places like before. On error please tell the forum forum.rsgallery2.org.
* Slideshow slideshow_pathfusion is not running.

RSGallery2 4.x bugs & problems / Re: file upload limit is 2MB
« Last post by whazzup on July 31, 2017, 10:09:21 PM »
Hello Malu,
i stumbled over a glitch. RSGallery2 did handle the size from php.ini partly wrong.
The sizes can be formated in php.ini with Mb, Kb Gb and others.
RSGallery2 used one (kB) format to determine the size and is wrong on the other formates.
This will be fixed in next version 4.3.2 within next months

if you need a fix before tell me and i send changed files

Regards whazzup

Thank you giobag,

It is marvelous when "our" users support the solutions to their own issues.  ;D ;-)
The inserts will be included in the next release

Thank you whazzup.
I figured it out by editing file config.rsgallery2.php
I attach my changes with //giobag.
Thank you again.

$database      = JFactory::getDBO();
      $my       = JFactory::getUser();//giobag
      $my_id    = $my->id; //giobag

      $dropDown_html = "";

      //$query = 'SELECT * FROM `#__rsgallery2_galleries` WHERE `parent` = ' . (int) $galid . ' ORDER BY `ordering` ASC';
      $query = 'SELECT * FROM `#__rsgallery2_galleries` WHERE `uid` = ' . (int) $my_id . ' and `parent` = ' . (int) $galid . ' ORDER BY `ordering` ASC';//giobag

      $database->setQuery($query);
