Mygalleries: A few questions
« on: May 17, 2016, 07:33:45 PM »
Hi, we recently installed RSGallery on our site for high end images.  I have a few questions.

1) How can I make it where users can only upload in their created galleries?

2) Where is the batch upload feature on the front end?

3) How do I get the search to work?

Thanks for all your work on this extension!

a) In Backend -> configuration -> "My galleries" you may enable user galleries
"show my galleries" Yes. The tooltips when the mouse goes over the text beside the buttons tell about this and the other options
b) In the menu where the galleries are shown apears a button "My galleries" where logged in users may create their gallery.
c) The logged in needs the permission to create a gallery or upload pictures
The user needs at least  "Create" and "Edit Own" access
You may define a seperate user group and in the Joomla System -> Global configuration -> RSGallery2 -> permissions set the flags for the user in this group
d) There exists a plugin which automatically creates a own gallery for each new user that is created
RSGallery2_Plugin_GalleryCreator
within the next day i will generate a release. Actuall after download the zip it may be installed (hopefully) without hassle

The following link will lead to an example where rsgallery2 is used for user "My gallery"s.

I have it set in My Galleries but it still allows anyone to upload in other users galleries.

There is none. In your place i would expect one too.
This will change in the future. It will take some time though until i get around to it

Can you tell me on which page this appears ?
I tried some but didn't find the right one. May have different flags in the backend though

It appears on the image display page when I click comments.  There is no test box to write it in.

It would be nice if that when the user creates the gallery that they could pick if other could upload to that gallery or not.

4) Also the text area for comments does not show.

Quick hack for user comments

Replace following code line 300 in "...\...Joomla3x...\components\com_rsgallery2\lib\rsgcomments\rsgcomments.class.php
Code: [Select]
            //Get Joomla! configuration setting: is TinyMCE used as editor?
                //$app =& JFactory::getApplication();
                //if ( $app->getCfg('editor') == 'tinymce'){
                    // Get TinyMCE, but with limited number of buttons
                    ...
                    <script type="text/javascript">
                        tinyMCE.init({
                            mode : "textareas",
                            theme : "advanced",
                            width : "300",
                            theme_advanced_buttons1 : "bold,italic,underline",
                            //theme_advanced_buttons2 : "link,unlink",
                            theme_advanced_toolbar_location : "top",
                            theme_advanced_toolbar_align : "left",
                            theme_advanced_statusbar_location : "none"
                        });
                    </script>
                    <textarea name="tcomment" id="tcomment" style="width:100%"></textarea>
                    ...
                //} else {
                    // parameters : control name, content, width, height, cols, rows, show editor buttons, params
                //    echo $editor->display('tcomment',  '' , '300px', '100px', '8', '20' ,false) ;
                //}

with

Code: [Select]
            // Get global editor
            $config = JFactory::getConfig();
            $globalEditor = $config->get('editor');

            // Get user editor
            $userEditor = JFactory::getUser()->getParam("editor");

            if($userEditor && $userEditor!== 'JEditor') {
                $selected_editor = $userEditor;
            } else {
                $selected_editor = $globalEditor;
            }

            $editor = JEditor::getInstance($selected_editor);

            // Set editor parameter
            $params = array( 'smilies'=> '1' ,
                'style'  => '1' ,
                'layer'  => '0' ,
                'table'  => '0' ,
                'clear_entities'=>'0',
                'mode' => '1'
            );

            // display: (control name, content, width, height, columns, rows, show bottom buttons, id, asset, author, params)
            echo $editor->display('tcomment', '', '300px', '100px', '8', '20', false, null, null, null, $params);

In the next release will be a bit more refined version ;-)
